Just like Shawn’s rivalry with Bret, this feud was as real as it could get. Long story short: Lita cheated on Matt with Edge when their relationship was falling apart. Matt became super over and WWE turned this into one of the biggest feuds of the 2000s. Edge proved that he had every right to be a main eventer but the rivalry also showed that Matt was super underrated as a singles star.
